🗞️ YPP NATIONAL NEWSLETTER

📍 Abuja, FCT | Date: 30th June 2025

In a bold demonstration of transparency, unity, and grassroots mobilization, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) today conducted its FCT Chairmanship and Councillorship Primary Elections across all six Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory.

The well-organized process commenced with the accreditation of delegates, followed by an opening prayer and the third stanza of the National Anthem, setting a tone of solemnity, purpose, and patriotism.

Chairmanship Primary Results

In the keenly contested Chairmanship race, Mr. Robert Madaki emerged as the YPP Chairmanship Candidate with a resounding 40 votes out of 45 accredited delegates, defeating Mazzy Onyeabo Anagwu-Nnodu, who secured 5 votes.

“This victory belongs to the people. I stand as a symbol of service, not entitlement.” – Robert Madaki

Councillorship Primaries

The primary election also produced 14 councillorship candidates, most of whom emerged unopposed, reflecting both the party’s internal unity and growing confidence in the integrity of its aspirants.

Words from the National Chairman, Comr. Bishop Amakiri

“Today is a testament to the values we hold dear in the Young Progressives Party — discipline, democracy, and development. I congratulate every winner and extend deep respect to those who didn’t make it.

In the YPP, no one is a loser. We are one family. We are one movement. Let us now go forth, united, to win the mandate of the people in 2026. Our journey has just begun, and it is powered by the will of the people and the heartbeat of service.”

Statement from the YPP FCT Chairman, Hon. Abraham Simeon Adedotun

“Today marks a significant step in our collective journey towards people-driven leadership and a reformed political culture. I am proud to report that the YPP FCT Primary Election was conducted successfully — with fairness, equity, and transparency as our guiding principles.

Every aspirant was given a level playing field. The process was peaceful, credible, and inclusive — a model even the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials present can attest to.

This is the kind of politics Nigeria needs. We have shown that leadership selection can be based on merit, not manipulation; on values, not violence. I call on political actors across other parties to adopt this spirit of integrity as we all work to elevate our democracy.

Let me emphasize: this is only the beginning. As we move towards the 2026 FCT Area Council Elections, we must carry this momentum into every ward and community. We must campaign as one family, with one voice, and one mission — to deliver a government that truly serves the people.

Let us stay focused, united, and committed. Together, we will not just contest; we will transform. Together, we are the Young Progressives Party — a new breed without greed.

The future is ours to shape — and we will shape it with courage, competence, and compassion.”
