DONATE AND NOT SHED BLOOD- YPP

Members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) led by its National Chairman, Comrade Bishop Amakiri were guests at the National Hospital, Garki, Abuja on March 10th, 2018 on a voluntary blood donation exercise to herald a nationwide campaign that will be carried out by members and volunteers in all states of the Federation. This campaign is aimed at awakening the consciousness of Nigerians on the mutual benefits associated with blood donation for beneficiaries and donors alike. While a pint of blood can save the lives of 4 adults or 7 children, donors on the other hand enjoy a healthy living as a result of the regeneration of their bone marrows.

The National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Egbeola Olawale Martins sharing his thoughts on the campaign said, symbolically, blood is sacred and should be given to save lives. He said the government should think outside the box and exercise the much needed political will within the ambits of the law to put an end to the incessant bloodshed in many parts of the country such as Benue, Adamawa, Taraba, Borno, Plateau, Kaduna etc carried out by the rampaging Fulani herdsmen and the dreaded Boko Haram sect as blood according to him should be freely given to save lives and not to be shed to end same.
