I PRESS RELEASE I

25th December, 2017.

YPP FELICITATES WITH NIGERIANS ON THE OCCASION OF THE 2017 CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION IN SPITE OF THE LINGERING FUEL SHORTAGE IN THE NATION.

The Young Progressive Party (YPP) will like to felicitate with Nigerians on the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebration which marks the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ whose life and teachings epitomizes empathy, humility and love.

While the present state of the country does not give reason for celebration owing to the poor state of the economy occasioned by a rudderless leadership immersed in all kinds of controversies that all but add little or no value to our development as a Nation, we however want to urge all Nigerians not to loose hope but continue to imbibe the good virtues of our Lord Jesus Christ with more emphasis on the principal virtue of WISDOM in order not to be deceived by these same set of charlatans in the PDP & APC who have held the Nation bound for about two decades.

We hope that the current hardship will provoke a paradigm shift that will see only young and highly cerebral leaders without greed with the will-power to uphold the rule of law, implement e-governance, drive a knowledge economy and invest heavily in human capital development elected as leaders at all strata come 2019 through the platform of the Young Progressive Party, which ironically is the only credible alternative if the above must be actualized.

May we also call on President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of National emergency come up with an immediate solution to the lingering fuel crisis which seems to have overwhelmed the inept think-tank of the current administration who made Nigerians to believe that the removal of subsidy will bring an end to this perennial problem that has become a yearly ritual. The fact that Nigerians have been patient with this visionless government by accepting the removal of subsidy does not mean they should keep on insulting us with their gross incompetence.

A government that lacks the expertise or initiative to resolve the problem of fuel shortage in a country that is ranked among the top 10 oil producing nations in the world even after the removal of subsidy it hitherto claimed to be a clog in the wheel of a seamless supply with almost 3years in the saddle does not possess the capacity to bring about the rapid socio-economic and political development Nigerians earnestly yearns for.

Conclusively, while wishing Nigerians a merry Christmas and prosperous 2018, the Young Progressive Party (YPP) still wants to re-emphasis the principal virtue of WISDOM even as the 2019 general elections approaches.

Signed:

Comrade Egbeola Wale Martins.
National Publicity Secretary.
