The leadership and members of the Young Progressives Party came out today on an advocacy Walk to call the attention of government to the fact that Nigerians are suffering and the burden is becoming too much to bear. It’s insensitive to continue to increase taxes on the masses while the frivolous lifestyle of the ruling class remain unchanged.
It’s time for the government to reassess the cost and structure of governance as the current structure is no longer sustainable and it’s only wise that we embrace the reality of restructuring, else, it will only continue to get worse.
The YPP challenge the government to cut down recurrent expenditure to 50% and if this government is in doubt on how to achieve it, we are ready to offer free expertise on how to achieve same without a single civil servant losing his or her job.
Desperate times call for desperate measures and if there is anytime that our leaders need to show empathy, it’s now.
