National Chairman Receives Delegation Report
The National Chairman of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Comrade Bishop Amakiri, welcomed a delegation of national party executives to the YPP National Secretariat, Abuja, for an official debriefing following their participation in the recent consultative meeting organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The delegation—comprising the National Deputy Chairman, National Women Leader, and National Deputy Women Leader—represented the National Chairman and National Secretary at the high-level stakeholder engagement with INEC and other registered political parties.
INEC Sets Timeline for Bye-Elections & Anambra Guber CVR
During the INEC meeting, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Commission, unveiled major updates regarding Nigeria’s electoral calendar. Key announcements include:
- Bye-Elections Date: Saturday, August 16, 2025
- Coverage: 16 constituencies across 12 states
- Total Registered Voters: 3,553,659
- Polling Units: 6,987 across 356 Wards and 32 LGAs
- Election Personnel: 30,451 officers to be deployed
Exceptions:
- Khana II (Rivers State): Suspended due to state of emergency
- Talata Mafara South (Zamfara State): Suspended due to legal disputes
Electoral Activities Timeline:
- Party Primaries: July 17–21, 2025
- INEC Portal Nominations: July 22 (9:00 a.m.) to July 26 (6:00 p.m.)
- Public Campaigns: August 2–14, 2025
CVR Resumes in Anambra and Nationwide
Anambra State:
- Dates: July 8–17, 2025 (including weekends)
- Coverage: All 326 Wards
- Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. daily
Voters can register, transfer, or replace lost/damaged PVCs. Previously issued PVCs will also be available for collection.
Nationwide CVR:
- Online Pre-Registration: Begins August 18, 2025
- In-Person Registration: Starts August 25, 2025
- Locations: All INEC offices across 774 LGAs and the FCT
