PAYMENT OF N50M TO OPPOSITION LEADERS: ATIKU SHOULD PROVIDE CONCRETE EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT HIS CLAIMS

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has taken note of the recent accusations made by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, claiming that leaders of political parties were induced with N50 million each. We categorically reject these frivolous and unfounded allegations as a desperate attempt to heat up the polity.
As a party committed to social democracy and good governance, we believe that such blanket accusations without evidence are not only unbecoming but also damaging to our democratic process. It is imperative that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar provides concrete evidence to support his claims, as he who alleges must prove.
Furthermore, we challenge Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to mention the specific political parties allegedly involved in this inducement. It is unacceptable to make sweeping accusations without facts, and we will not stand idly by while our party’s integrity is impugned.
Having lost an election, it is time for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to reflect on his campaign strategies rather than resorting to cheap blackmail. Unlike the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which has a history of legalized corruption, monetized politics, and merchandising the polity during its 16-year reign, the YPP will not engage in such unwholesome practices.
We urge the general public to disregard these baseless accusations and focus on constructive dialogue that promotes our nation’s growth and development.
Signed:
Comrade Egbeola Wale Martins
National Publicity Secretary
